Q. How many people do I need to qualify for group rates?
The minimum number of people to qualify as a group is 20.

Q. Do we need to make reservations in advance?
Reservations are required for Space Show, IMAX®, Guided Tours, Lunch packages, and some special exhibitions. Payment is required two weeks prior to date of visit. If you are paying by credit card, adjustments may be made closer to the date of visit.

Q. Is the Rose Center for Earth and Space in the same location as the American Museum of Natural History?
Yes. They are part of the same facility. You may enter the Rose Center directly at 81st Street, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue or you may enter it from inside the Museum.

Q. Where do we go when we get there?
Groups enter the Museum at the Rose Center Entrance on 81st between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue.

Q. What if someone in our group has a problem walking?
Almost every part of the Museum is equipped with benches for people needing to rest. Wheelchairs are available at no charge (please notify in advance so we can be sure to have one on hold).

Q. Is the Museum handicapped accessible?
Yes. All public areas in the Museum are accessible to wheelchairs; all video displays are captioned for the hearing impaired; hearing devices are available in auditoriums upon request. Please indicate in advance if there are guests with wheelchairs in your group - this will expedite your visit.

Q. Is there any place to purchase food at the Museum?
Yes. The new, market-style Museum Food Court is available at the Museum, in addition to cafe on four and cafe 77.

Q. Is there a place to eat if my group brings their own lunch?
There are plenty of areas outdoors for groups to enjoy their lunch including the Terrace (during warm weather), and of course beautiful Central Park - directly across from the Museum.

Q. Is there assigned seating at the Space Show?
The show takes place above and around the visitors - all seats have an equally magnificent view. Seating at the Space Show is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q. If more people than expected show up, can they purchase Space Show tickets on the day of arrival?
Seating for the Space Show is available through advanced purchase. There is no guarantee that there will be availability for additional guests who have not made reservations. Every effort will be made to accommodate additional visitors at the first available show time.

Q. How long is the Space Show?
The entire experience is 30 minutes.

Q. How long is a guided tour?
A Highlights Tour is 1 hour and 15 minutes. A Spotlight Tour is 45 minutes.

Q. How long is an IMAX film?
IMAX films average 40 minutes.
